Round, flowing GS turns with a big delay

A blue course: a steeper hill and changes of rhythm that ask you to look a gate ahead.
Giant slalom has rounder, longer turns through two-pole gates with panels. The fast line is round and early: finish each turn above the gate, change edges just after it, and the skis kick you into the next one.
How to ski Ridgeline
- Start to split 1 (gates 1–5)
- A delay at gate 5.
- Split 1 to split 2 (gates 6–10)
- Ice between gates 7 and 8.
- Split 2 to split 3 (gates 11–14)
- Round, even turns.
- Split 3 to the finish (gates 15–18)
- Ice between gates 15 and 16.
- Delays: the gate sits far to the side, so turn early and high to carry your speed round.
- Ice: finish the turn before it and glide across flat.
The Course Setter skis it in 35.04 s, topping 51 mph (83 km/h).
